Successful blend of technology and traditional media by IKEA

To compliment Ikea’s 2014 catalogue, they have built an interactive app that provides a customer shopping experience unlike any other.

The app, like many, allows shoppers to scan the selected pages in the catalogue and access related content, such as photos and videos, on a mobile device.

The more unique and interactive feature that the Ikea app offers is that it allows users to scan a page/item in the catalogue and place that piece of furniture in their home or office. It acts like a show room. The user can rotate and move the furniture around the room with ease, giving the customer to get a much clearer, and accurate picture of the product in their own space – much better than the measuring tape!
